The D.C Chapter of the National MS Society will be running this event to raise funds to end multiple sclerosis (MS), increase public awareness of the disease, and promote health and fitness. Each walker commits to a fund-raising minimum before making a life-changing journey of 50 kilometers over 2 days. The Capital Challenge Walk MS is expected to host several hundred walkers and raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to support local chapter programs and services, as well as national research initiatives. This unique event will take walkers (and us!) on an amazing journey around Virgina and D.C. Ending in front of the beautiful Washington Monument in a symbol of hope and strength! For more details on the event check out the Nation MS society D.C. chapter page at http://challengedcw.n...
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
On Saturday October 3 Critters for a Cause will be running Rest Stop #3 to help support walkers from 9 a.m. till noon as walkers work their way to lunch. That afternoon we move to the finish line to show support and cheer on walkers as they complete their first leg of this amazing journey between 3 p.m. till 6:30 p.m. Then on Sunday October 4, we have an amazing opportunity to help show our support and cheer on the walkers as they complete their 50k walk at the beautiful Washington Monument from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m!
We hope everyone can find the time to help out at this amazing two day event, the more people who can help out, the more successful this event will be. If you have any questions, please feel free to send a message or add a discussion to the message board.
